Opening Weak 2's - Acol Lesson 20

Opening   2, 2, 2

Opening at the level of 2 indicates to your partner that you have a very long suit with 10 or fewer HCP so your hand is strong distributionally but weak in points. This is a pre-emptive bid and but only 6 - 10 HCP.

The 2, 2, 2 openings are weak pre-emptive bids showing at least 6 cards and fewer than 13 TP. You promise at least 2 honors in your suit..

A six card trump suit with 2 honor cards

A singleton or a void in a side suit

Unless partner makes a forcing bid, you should not bid again.
